There he was, standing there, looking better than ever. He was waiting for me. I looked into my mirror, fixed my dress, and got out of the car.
We were at a dance and I was lucky enough to have him as my date. I walked up to him.
"You look beautiful," he told me.
"Thanks, you look great too."
He gave me my corsage and we walked inside.
The school's cafeteria was beautifully decorated. I barely recognized the place.
We met up with friends and talked, make that yelled over the loud music. I wouldn't have chosen this type of music, but it didn't seem as if others were complaining about it, so I let it go.
Soon after, we all sat down somewhere away from the stereos. Some talked while sipping punch, others danced in the middle of the cafeteria. It wasn't slow dancing yet. That was saved for the near-end. Right now people were break-dancing. A little disturbing if you asked me, though.
But eventually, the time came for slow dancing and we all gathered towards the center.
I felt his arms around my waist. I placed my hands on his shoulders and we swayed back and forth as we tried to find things to talk about. I found silence awkward.
"You look beautiful," he told me. I smiled but I thought he already said that.
"I really like the corsage. Thanks."
Another moment passed without conversation. I could tell he thought it was awkward too.
"Did you finish the science homework?" he finally said to break the silence.
"Yeah, but tonight I thought we could talk about something else."
"Well, I'm glad they changed it from that crap-music, but its still way too loud," he told me.
I laughed. "Do you want to go outside?"
He immediately grabbed my arm and started running towards the exit but stopped. He looked around for teachers or chaperones. We then continued for the doors.
When we got outside, it was already dark, though we could still see through the dim light. The full moon and the school's outdoor lights provided enough light to see each-other.
"Is that better?" I asked him.
"Alot better," he replied.
And at that very moment, the sky clouded and I heard a boom of thunder. A second later, I felt raindrops across my face.
And I'll stop there. That's all I'll say.
After all, you're not supposed to kiss and tell.
I LOVE IT!!!
